Tours and Information

The Information Desk is located in the Rotunda Lobby, inside the main entrance at the corner of Fairchild and State Streets. The desk is usually staffed Mon - Fri, 11 AM - 5:30 PM, and evenings and weekends whenever there is a performance in the building.

Get Into Overture: Tours

Reserved Tours

Interested in getting an inside look at Overture Center? The Rotunda Lobby and the Galleries open at 9:00 AM, MON - SAT; and Overture Hall Lobby is usually open from 11 AM to 5 PM MON - FRI and 11 AM to 2 PM on SAT.

But if that's not enough Overture, you can arrange a reserved private tour for your group. Cost for reserved tours is based on the number of participants. Requests for reserved tours must be submitted a minimum of two weeks in advance and confirmed by our Volunteer Services Department prior to arrival. To request a reservation, call 608.258.4157 or fill out and mail or fax in a Reserved Tour Request Form.

1-12 people $4 per person
13 - 25 $50
26 - 50 $90
51 - 75 $130
76 - 120 $180
Groups over 120 will be charged $1.50 per person.

Drop-In Tours 

Building and Theater Tours* | $4 per person 

Saturdays at 11AM (no tour on July 4) 
Wednesdays at 2:30PM | June 24, July 8 and 22, August 12 and 26 only

Hear about the history of Overture Center and get an in-depth look at its architecture, acoustics and the magnificent organs. Visit Overture Hall, Capitol Theater, The Playhouse, Rotunda Stage and Promenade Hall.  Tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Tours are led by experienced volunteer guides and depart from the Information Desk, located in the Rotunda Lobby. Tours are on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to 20 persons per tour. 

* Due to performance related activities, theater access changes daily and hall access cannot be guaranteed. Please inquire at the Information Desk for details about what the day's tour will include.

Special Topic Tours

Careers in the Arts  - especially designed for middle/high school-aged students. Includes a panel discussion by Overture staff members. Building and theater tour will follow. Requests must be submitted 3 weeks in advance. Tour lasts approximately 2 hours.

Technical Tours @ Overture - an in-depth discussion of lighting, sound and the backstage led by Overture's technical staff. Building and theater tour included. Tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
