Kanopy Dance Company captivates audiences with modern, post-modern, performance art and dance-theater. Working with talented emerging choreographers as well as internationally acclaimed artists, Kanopy brings vibrant art to the region. Under the direction of Lisa Thurrell and Robert E Cleary, two distinct choreographic voices, Kanopy's vision includes creating artistic excellence in performing dance repertoire, new works, and historically significant dance by commissioning or accepting commissions; supporting and producing local, national and international collaborations; touring; training and hiring exceptional artists; building and broadening community outreach educational opportunities; offering affordable rehearsal and classroom space for other dance and movement groups in our area; and enhancing the quality of life for all in our community.
