The Atwood Players, local acting and storytelling troupe, routinely lead crowds on a trip to explore their imagination with tall tales and fables at Overture's Kids in the Rotunda. This season, see Anansi the Spider lead you through rich traditions of African folklore in the stories How Anansi Got a Bald Head, Anansi Goes Fishing, Anansi and the Tar Man, and Anansi and the Lion. Join the Atwood Players as they transport us to Africa using animal masks and your imagination!
Each Saturday from the end of September through April at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM, Overture Center presents Kids in the Rotunda, a series of FREE artistic programs designed for children and families. This popular performing arts series on the Rotunda Stage offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers. The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted.
Kids in the Rotunda is generously sponsored by American Girl's Fund for Children. Additional funding for Kids in the Rotunda is provided by contributors to the Overture Center Foundation.
