Laura Doherty

Laura Doherty returns with her folk-pop duo to the Overture Center to deliver another set of highly interactive family shows!  Laura's brand new CD "Shining Like a Star" is a great follow-up to her award-winning CD "Songs from the City", and includes 12 new toe-tappin', hip-shaking tunes for the whole family!  This year, Time Out Chicago Magazine named Laura as one of Chicago's most influential children's musicians!  Performing locally and nationally, Doherty has played on famed Chicago stages such as the Old Town School of Folk Music and Millennium Park's Pritzker Pavillion.

Each Saturday from the end of September through April at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM, Overture Center presents Kids in the Rotunda, a series of FREE artistic programs designed for children and families. This popular performing arts series on the Rotunda Stage offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers. The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted.
