Joel Paterson and the Modern Sounds

Classic blues, hot jazz and rockabilly from Chicago.  This “big little band” was the 2009 Winner of the Chicago Reader's "Our Readers’ Choice" award. A long time Madison Eastsider, Joel Paterson captures the classic sounds of country, blues, swing and hot jazz. A great way to kick off the OAW series with your dancing shoes on!

NonProfit Spotlight

Each month Overture After Work shines a spotlight on a local nonprofit organization. This month's featured organization is Porchlight, Inc., which provides emergency shelter, food, employment services, counseling, and affordable transitional and permanent housing to homeless people in the Dane County area.

Porchlight Inc. will be selling Porchlight Products, a business that works on many levels to make positive changes in our community. They provide training for a variety of job and life skills to people with a wide range of disabilities. Their goal is to have at least 50% of ingredients come from local farmers and producers.
