In this exhibition, the Bone Folders' Guild considers the form of the book as a container, asking “what will or can be contained in books?” Addressing this theme through book structure, subject matter, words, visuals and display techniques, the show exhibits a range of approaches to the book arts. The Bone Folder’s Guild is a local group dedicated to the creation of artists’ books whose name derives from the bone folder tool. Typically made from the leg bone of a cow, deer or elk, this tool is used to fold, crease and score paper. For book and paper artists alike, a bone folder can become their right hand.
