Form & Function in Tile and Mosaic: Echoes of the Earth

The Wisconsin Handmade Tile Guild is an organization of professional tile artists who create tiles from ceramics, glass, steel, copper, ceramic, stone and other media.  Consider the tile medium to be an integral part of architectural art, the Tile Guild also includes work with mosaics, opening the door to found object tiles and mixed-media compositions.  Members of the Handmade Tile Guild are part of a resurgent wave to rejuvenate the hand crafted traditions which were largely ignored for many years and they work in this medium to offer their version of the handmade aesthetic.
