A member of the Menominee & Potowatomi tribes in Wisconsin, Art Shegonee wows audiences year after year with traditional Native American dance. This year Art will expand the Rotunda-horizons by bringing Hmong and Scottish dancers from Call for Peach Drum and Dance Company with him to the stage. Through the universal language of dance, drumming and contemporary music, Call for Peace weaves the pageantry of life, the power of hope and the wisdom of our Elders into a tapestry of rhythm, color, dance and culture.
Each Saturday from the beginning of October to the beginning of May at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM, Overture Center presents Kids in the Rotunda, a series of FREE artistic programs designed for children and families. This popular performing arts series on the Rotunda Stage offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers. The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted.
