A Year with Frog and Toad

MadCAP’s fourth year at the Overture Center presents A Year with Frog and Toad as part of the MadCAP Theatre for Young Audiences season. MadCAP TYA is designed to introduce Madison and Dane County’s youngest theatre goers to high quality, professionally produced live theatre in an intimate theatrical setting. TYA Producing Director Gail Koppa works with staff to choose age appropriate, classic children’s literature to bring to life on stage.

Arnold Lobel's well-loved characters hop through the woodland adventures of two amphibious friends, a worrywart toad and a perky frog, with their assorted colorful, crawling, and flying companions, over the course of a year. Waking from hibernation in the spring, they proceed to plant gardens, swim, rake leaves and go sledding, learning life lessons along the way, including a most important one about friendship and rejoicing in the attributes that make each of us different and special.
