| This thoroughly engaging multi-media program, featuring stunning computer-generated visuals and audience participation, as well as live
music from a dynamic sextet comprised of some of New York’s finest jazz
musicians, introduces audiences to jazz music’s rich history and to the
names, faces and sounds of some of its many virtuosos. Stolen Moments
explores the interplay between the jazz movement and the evolution
of American culture in the 20th century, from the implementation of
Jim Crow laws in New Orleans to northern migration,
prohibition, the Great Depression, the Civil Rights
Movement, and the popularization of rock and
roll and hip-hop. |
