| This one-of-a-kind concert features historical film footage, live music
and 18 happy feet keeping time to the pulse of a wonderful American
artform—a celebration of rhythm at its best—tap dance. Tap dance was
created from combining elements of African drumming and dancing with
techniques of European clog and step dancing. The unique rhythms of jazz
music distinguish American tap dance from all other kinds of dancing based
on percussive footwork. This show will cover classic and contemporary tap
masterpieces featuring historical works of tap legends such as Bill
”Bojangles” Robinson, Fred Astaire and the Nichols Brothers. |
