Discounted tickets for students and their teachers 

 


With the Take 10 program, K-12 students and educators connect with outstanding performers and eclectic art forms. 

Each season, students and educators can get $10 tickets to selected Overture's performances. Some of these performances arel also part of Overture's Meet the Artist series, which provides audience members the chance to converse with the artists in informal Q & A sessions after their performances. 

Take 10 tickets are available at the ticket office window.  All students and educators have to do is present student or educator ID (or proof of age for students) at the ticket office window.

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana
El Corazón del Flamenco

For nearly 30 years, Carlota Santana has stunned and spellbound audiences with her company’s rich flamenco works. Calling upon the traditions born in Spain and bred in European, Caribbean, Latino and Afro-Latino cultures, the company creates “a mysterious and alluring vision,” says The New York Times. Founded on a mission to build bridges between cultures, Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana captures the passion, precision and creativity of flamenco. Presented in cooperation with Madison Ballet.

Step Afrika!

Long before Stomp, there was step. Experience the heart-throbbing rhythms and pulse-pounding music of this long and proud African-American tradition. Washington,D.C.–based Step Afrika! and its founder, C. Brian Williams, stand among the nation\'s leading ambassadors of step and the use of its traditions in education and cultural exchange. “You feel it in your eardrums and elsewhere,” says the Washington Post. “Each jackhammer step stamps you.”

Sones de México

Chicago’s premier Mexican folk musicians return to the Capitol Theater to headline the 29th International Festival. Sones de México bring what the Chicago Reader calls “a dazzling array of Mexican folk-music forms with a preservationist’s care, bursting with energy.” In their own thoroughly modern way, they’ll transport you to a dusty village fandango to an urban barrio and back again. Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway

100 Years of Broadway revives the greatest show-stoppers of the last century. Stars who lit up the Great White Way in shows like The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, CATS, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Jekyll & Hyde will shine again on the Capitol Theater stage. Danú

It’s St. Paddy’s Day! What better way to celebrate than reveling in the music of Danú, one of the leading traditional Irish ensembles of today. For over a decade, their virtuosi players on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, bouzouki and vocals have performed around the globe.
